'The Okavango in Botswana has been a rich source of material for my bird paintings. This scene was inspired by two Pied Kingfishers that I would regularly see at a pole bridge crossing in the Chitabe area. I like to stop and park on the bridge and my Land Cruiser became an instant hide from which I would regularly see Pied, Malachite and Giant Kingfishers as well. These pole bridges were also a very good place to stop and have a clean up.'
