''Perfect Acacia

This painting: Mombo scenery near 'Perfect Acacia, Mombo, Jau, Okavango in Botswana. 'Perfect Acacia' was a distinctive and symmetrical Acacia Tortillis tree in an area that had forests of acacias. It was a landmark because it's classic umbrella shape was visible from far away and used to fix ones position when driving over the floodplains of this part of Northern Chief's Island. That tree lies in the background of this painting. Using other angles of view I have used the same tree many times as an element in other paintings. As the years passed it lost various branches to elephant damage.
