'The Goha Hills are a distinctive geological feature of the Northern part of the Mababe Depression in the Chobe National Park in Botswana. The Savuti Channel winds it's way past these isolated outcrops of rock in what is otherwise flat sandy terrain covered with huge acacia trees and open plains. Lions are very common here and also very noisy at night. The Mababe Depression is what the Savuti drains in to. There is no connection to the sea as is the case for the Okavango as well. The Depression is surrounded by a sand ridge (as are most pans in Botswana) which conveniently provides the potential for a rainy season route for vehicles on a track called the Sand Ridge Track.
